    Essential Information

    Trek Difficulty

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek with helicopter return is considered a moderate trekking journey perfect for those who want to explore the Himalayas but need more time to be ready for an extreme trek. At its highest point, you will reach a peak of 4,130 meters of Annapurna Base Camp – which, compared to other base camp treks in Nepal, is relatively low.

Even though the trail’s altitude is lower than other treks, that doesn’t mean it should be taken lightly. The path can be steep in some sections and require you to muster all your strength and bravery to overcome. The terrain is rugged, with rocky paths and undulating hills, perfect for hikers looking to challenge themselves.

Food, Meals, and Drinks on Annapurna Base Camp Trek and Helicopter Return

Annapurna Base Camp Trek and Helicopter Return package include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We can assure you with a healthy meal, but varieties on the menu could be a little tricky option at an altitude. Depending on the elevation we spent our night in and what kind of accommodation you must adapt to the food culture. We highly suggest you take vegetarian meals at higher altitudes because most people in tea houses/lodges have organic gardens. Moreover, the meat they provide is carried from Pokhara or nearby cities, which takes several days to reach. So not neglecting the quality and freshness, it would be good for health to have a vegetarian diet during the trek.

During Annapurna Base Camp Trek and Helicopter Return package, you can carry nuts, energy snacks, and other healthy components while walking. But ensure you bring all your trash and dispose of it in the proper bin area. When trekking to a higher elevation, your body needs to be hydrated to avoid altitude sickness. Drink plenty of boiled water or sanitized water. Alcohol consumption is dangerous at altitude, as it dehydrates your body and makes you prone to altitude sickness.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek and Helicopter Return is a moderate-level trek. A trekker has to walk six to seven hours per day during the whole trek, which is considered normal. This walking hour might be reasonable for regular trekkers, whereas, for beginners, it might be a little difficult at higher altitudes. Before starting the trek, you can prepare your body by exercising daily, jogging, and going on weekly hikes. If people are self-motivated, passionate, and confident enough to maintain their fitness and positive attitude, they can do the ABC trek easily.

Peregrine requests clients mention their medical conditions while filling out their forms. We will have to arrange the services accordingly. Ensure you carry your required medicines throughout the trip, as all medicine may not be available in high-altitude rural areas. Moreover, we request you consult with your doctors if any diseases or health issues could be prone to high altitude. We strongly recommend such people take care of their health first.

The utmost suitable season for Annapurna Base Camp Trek and Helicopter Return is Autumn (September, October, and November) and spring (March, April, and May). The Autumn and spring will greet you with crystal clear sky and the blooming of multi-colored rhododendron flowers. Winter (December, January, and February) is perfect if you like less crowded. The only withdrawing factor for this season is the severe cold weather, which can be solved by carrying proper winter gear. Similarly, if you are a keen botanist or an avid plant lover, the summer or monsoon season (June, July, and August) is your season. Wear proper rain gear and go through it.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return

We booked the ABC trek with Peregrine Treks. After we landed in Kathmandu, Peregrine Treks escorted us to this newly opened hotel: Kathmandu Suite, which was very good. Peregrine Treks provided us with Sonam and Raju as our guides and porter for our trek. They were so helpful, friendly, and caring. Sonam tried his 200% to keep us safe from any sickness. The food, accommodation, people, and culture were very memorable. I am glad to choose Nepal and Peregrine Treks.

Harder the trail and worthier the experience

The more complex the trail, the worthier the experience. I found the trials of ABC challenging. There were thousands of stone-laid steps, highs, and lows. However, walking through those paths was worth it in front of ABC’s natural beauty. The weather favored me, so I could easily see the mountain ranges, which was unforgettable. Thank you, Peregrine Treks, for providing your best services. I strongly recommend it!
