    On Arrival Visas are available at Nepal's entrance points for travelers. Travelers from Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, and Syria, on the other hand, are required to obtain a visa through their nearest Nepalese diplomatic post (embassy/consulate).

    To confirm the trek/tour package, we want a deposit of at least 20% of the total tour/trek fee. The remaining balance must be paid when you arrive in Nepal. We take Visa, Maestro, MasterCard, American Express, and other major credit cards. The total cost of a Bhutan and Tibet tour must be paid in full at the time of booking.

    We strongly advise you to purchase a SIM card for reliable internet access throughout Nepal. Nepal Telecom (owned by the government) and NCELL (owned by the private sector) are the two main SIM card providers in Nepal. It is preferable to get a SIM card at an airport, where staff will assist with activation and data plan purchases. If you have a SIM card, it will be easier for you to contact us and locate our airport agent.

    You can charge your electrical devices at hotels and lodges because there are no power outages. In the Himalayan region, however, hotel owners may levy a nominal fee.

    Passport and Visa Information

    Everybody visiting Oman needs to make sure their passports are good for at least six months after the date of departure. They must also verify that their passport contains 2 to 6 blank pages labeled “Visa,” with at least two pages being preferable. Included in this travel package are the visa requirements, offering peace of mind and ease for travelers throughout their trip. This provision guarantees a smooth travel process, enabling travelers to concentrate on the excitement and exploration in Oman without the burden of handling visa procedures independently.

    Local Time

    Oman operates on Oman Standard Time (IST), 4 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

    Electricity

    Oman’s electrical system uses 220 and 240 volts at 50 Hz frequency. Square three-pin plugs are the most common.

    Language

    The official language is Arabic, with Swahili and Baluchi also spoken. English finds widespread use in business.

    Currency, Banking, and Financial Services

    The Omani Rial (OMR), divided into 1,000 baiza, serves as the currency. You’ll find banknotes in denominations of 50, 20, 10, 5, and 1 OMR, and smaller notes like 500, 250, 200, and 100 baiza, with coins in 50, 25, 10, and 5 baiza. Major credit and debit cards are accepted, ATMs are widespread, and banking hours are typically Saturday to Wednesday from 0800 to 1200 and Thursday from 0800 to 1130.     Clothing Recommendations for Oman Holiday

    Wear lightweight cotton clothing throughout the year, and bring a warm wrap for cooler evenings, mountain excursions, or air-conditioned places.

    Communication and Connectivity

    Dial +968 for Oman. Mobile coverage varies, with international roaming available. Internet cafes are common, and airmail to Western Europe takes about three to four days.

    Weather and Climate

    Visit Oman ideally from November to mid-March when daytime temperatures average around 25°C. May to August are hotter and hazier. The Khareef, or rainy season, from mid-June to late August, cools down southern Oman, especially Dhofar.

    Dining and Drinking Costs

    Dining costs outside the package are roughly: a simple snack – US$5, a light meal – US$10-18, and dining at a fancy restaurant – US$25-40. For drinks in shops, expect to pay 1l of water – US$2, 30cl soft drinks – US$2, and 50 beers – US$7. Expect higher prices in restaurants, hotels, and cruise boats.

    Alcohol Consumption and Smoking

    Non-Muslims can consume alcohol in certain bars, restaurants, clubs, and hotels. Public smoking and alcohol consumption face strict restrictions. Public spaces prohibit smoking, and those under 20 cannot buy cigarettes or use designated smoking areas. During Ramadan, you must not eat, drink, or smoke in public.

    Health Precautions

    Oman does not mandate vaccinations except for cholera and yellow fever from affected regions. Eat healthfully prepared food and drink bottled water. Peeling fruits and vegetables before eating is a good idea.

    Local Customs and Etiquette

    Respect regional traditions, especially when it comes to attire and conduct, especially during the month of Ramadan. Give each other a warm welcome and a small present is appreciated. When taking pictures of people or property while on vacation in Oman, get permission beforehand and pay attention to any signs that say “No Photography.”
